High-Strength Bolts & Shear Studs
High-strength bolts are used for field connections of steel structures; common forms are heavy hex high-strength bolts and tension control (TC) bolts, plus matching shear studs, headed studs, stud bolts and threaded rods. We supply to drawing against common standards such as GB/T 1228-1231, GB/T 3632 or ASTM A325/A490/F3125. Strength grade (for example 8.8 or 10.9) and material are confirmed per order; blackening, hot-dip galvanizing and third-party inspection can be discussed as special requirements, with material certificates and inspection documents, professionally packed and shipped by sea from our Foshan factory.

Product Range
High-strength bolts connect steel structures in the field, working through pretension to form slip-resistant (friction) or bearing-type connections, which differs from ordinary bolts. Common forms are heavy hex high-strength bolts and tension control (TC) bolts, where a splined tail snaps off to control pretension.
Grades and Standards
The property class indicates tensile and yield capacity: 8.8 and 10.9 are the common structural steel grades, with 10.9 being stronger. GB/T 1228-1231 covers heavy hex high-strength bolt systems, GB/T 3632 covers tension control bolts, and ASTM A325/A490 (now consolidated in F3125) are common for overseas projects. The standard and grade used should follow the drawings and project requirements.
Shear Studs and Accessories
Shear studs (headed studs) provide shear connection in steel-concrete composite structures and can be arc-welded to members; stud bolts, threaded rods and U-bolts are supplied to drawing with matching nuts and washers.
Surface Treatment & Inspection
Blackening and hot-dip galvanizing can be discussed as special requirements; material certificates and inspection documents are available, and third-party inspection can be arranged per project.
Delivery
Our Foshan factory provides professional packing and container loading, with sea freight as the main delivery method for overseas orders; trade terms and packing are confirmed per order.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I choose between grade 8.8 and 10.9?
The property class determines capacity: 10.9 is stronger and common for high-strength bolted connections, while 8.8 suits general applications. Follow the structural design and project standard.
What is the difference between heavy hex and tension control (TC) bolts?
Heavy hex bolts are installed by torque or turn-of-nut method; TC bolts control pretension by snapping off the splined tail, making installation easier to verify. Both can be supplied to GB/T or ASTM systems.
Can you supply to ASTM A325/A490 or F3125?
Yes. Confirm the standard per project and we will supply to drawing with matching material certificates and inspection documents.
Can shear studs and headed studs be supplied together?
Yes. Shear studs, headed studs, stud bolts and threaded rods can be matched to drawing, with nuts and washers included.
