1. What Steel Structure Kits Are
Steel structure kits are complete building frames supplied to pre-engineered drawings, usually including main frame members (columns, beams or portal frames), purlins and connection parts, with cladding such as panels, doors and windows available on request. They are standardised, supplied as a package and quick to erect, suiting buyers with clear dimensions and specifications.
2. What a Kit Usually Includes
- Main frame: columns, beams or portal frames, H-beams and connection plates;
- Roof and wall purlins: C/Z purlins with matching fixings;
- Connection parts: high-strength bolts, anchor bolts and base plates;
- Optional cladding: roof/wall metal panels, doors and windows and ventilation (per project).
3. Kits vs Fabricating Loose Parts to Drawing
Kit procurement follows the supplier's standard design and drawings, with relatively fixed member sizes and connections, delivered as a complete package. Loose-part fabrication to your structural drawings offers more flexibility. Confirm before buying whether you need a complete kit or drawing-based members; the quoting basis differs and scope confusion is common.
4. What to Confirm When Buying
- Dimensions and loads: length, width, eave height, span and wind/snow loading;
- Scope: whether panels, doors and windows, connection parts and supporting processing are included;
- Standard and grades: drawing standard, Q235B/Q355B grades, etc.;
- Delivery method: loose parts, flat rack or container, packing and sea freight;
- Installation support: erection drawings and on-site technical support.
