1. Why Sea Freight Is the Standard
Steel members are large and heavy, which makes sea freight the most balanced option for long distances in terms of cost and capacity. Foshan factories sit close to the Pearl River Delta port cluster, so ocean shipping is convenient and reliable. Port of discharge, schedule and freight rate depend on member size, weight and required delivery date.
2. Preparation at the Factory
Members are checked, bundled and marked for customs and destination requirements. The Foshan factory provides professional packing and container loading plans, choosing between break-bulk, flat racks or containers according to member shape, with bracing and protection before loading to reduce deformation and surface damage in transit.
3. Shipping and Arrival
Transit time varies by route, schedule and port. After arrival, customs clearance, inland transport and unloading are usually handled separately, so check destination port rules early and confirm with a local agent. Inspection, packing and customs documents are provided as agreed in the order.
4. What to Prepare When Enquiring
Provide drawings and a member list (quantities, unit sizes and weights), the port of discharge and final address, the target delivery date, surface treatment and packing requirements, and whether on-site erection support is needed. The more complete the information, the more accurate the quotation and delivery plan.
For overseas delivery capability, see our steel structure export service and steel fabrication service; for members made to drawings, our custom steel components page. Send us your port of discharge and drawings for a sea-freight delivery review.
